04How to Book, Step by Step
1
Link tickets in My Disney Experience

Everyone in your party needs a valid park ticket linked in the app before Lightning Lane can be purchased.

2
Know your booking window

Resort guests: 7 days before check-in, covering the whole stay. Day guests: 3 days before each visit.

3
Be ready at 7am ET

Multi Pass and Single Pass selections open right at 7am. Popular headliners can sell out within minutes.

4
Add Single Pass à la carte

Layer in up to 2 Single Pass headliners per person, per day — one per attraction, purchased separately.

5
Decide if Premier Pass is worth it

If your group wants to ride everything with zero scheduling, compare its per-park price against stacking Multi + Single Pass.

05Insider Strategy
01Set an alarm for 7am ET the morning your window opens — TRON, Cosmic Rewind, Rise of the Resistance & Flight of Passage Single Passes can sell out fast on busy dates.
02Resort guests book first. The 7-day head start over day guests is the single biggest Lightning Lane advantage of staying on Disney property.
03At Magic Kingdom, EPCOT & Hollywood Studios, your Tier 1 Multi Pass pick matters most — you only get one, so choose the headliner you want most before filling in Tier 2.
04Animal Kingdom has no Multi Pass tiers — freely choose any 3 attractions, which makes it the easiest park to plan.
05Premier Pass does not park hop. It only covers the single park you purchased it for that day — buy it for whichever park has your must-do headliners.
06Single Pass prices rise and fall with demand — the same ride can cost more on a Saturday than a Tuesday.
07You don’t need Multi Pass to buy Single Pass — they’re purchased independently, so budget-conscious guests can buy Single Pass only for their must-ride headliner.
08Once a Multi Pass reservation is used (or its window passes), you can immediately book another — keep checking the app throughout the day for new availability.
06Frequently Asked Questions
Does Lightning Lane cost extra beyond my park ticket?Yes. Multi Pass, Single Pass, and Premier Pass are all separate purchases on top of valid park admission — none are bundled into ticket price.
Is this the same thing as the old Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane?Yes — same systems, new names as of July 24, 2024. Genie+ became Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and Individual Lightning Lane became Lightning Lane Single Pass.
Do Disney resort guests get an early-access advantage?Yes. On-site Disney resort guests (and some qualifying partner hotels) can book Lightning Lane starting 7 days before check-in, covering their whole stay. Everyone else has to wait until 3 days before each park day.
How many Single Pass rides can I book per day?Up to two per person, per day — and no more than one per individual attraction, so it’s two different headliners at most.
Can I use one Premier Pass across multiple parks in a day?No. Premier Pass is sold per park and does not park hop — it only covers the single park you purchased it for that day.
Is Premier Pass available to every guest?Yes, as of January 21, 2025. It launched in October 2024 as a Disney Deluxe resort-guest exclusive before opening to all guests with a valid ticket.
