02Getting to Typhoon Lagoon — By Resort
Port Orleans Riverside · Port Orleans French Quarter
Direct bus · seasonal (May 26–Sep 8, 2026)
🚌Direct bus: Disney added seasonal service straight to Typhoon Lagoon from these two resorts — no transfer needed.
All Other Disney Resort Hotels
Bus via Disney Springs · transfer required
🚌Transfer: ride to Disney Springs, then board the dedicated Typhoon Lagoon bus, which starts roughly 30 min before park opening.
πŸ—ΊοΈNo monorail, Skyliner, or walking path reaches Typhoon Lagoon from any Disney resort — it's bus or rideshare from every hotel, including the ones nearby.
03Arrival & Rope-Drop Strategy, Step by Step
1
Arrive 30 min before opening

Turnstiles typically open 15–30 min before the posted time — get in that first line.

2
Everyone enters together

Unlike the theme parks, there's no Early Entry here — resort and off-site guests all enter at the same posted time.

3
Ride the 48" slides first

Humunga Kowabunga and Crush 'n' Gusher build the day's longest waits — hit one or both in the first hour.

4
Work Mount Mayday next

Storm Slides, Keelhaul Falls & Mayday Falls stay reasonable until crowds peak near midday.

5
Settle in by early afternoon

Waits peak 11:30am–2pm. On the hottest summer dates the park can reach capacity — arriving before 10am avoids being turned away.

04Dining Guide

All Typhoon Lagoon dining is quick service — no table-service reservations here. Mobile order in the My Disney Experience app is available at the two largest spots.

05Insider Tips
01Seasonal closure: Typhoon Lagoon alternates refurbishment closures with Blizzard Beach — closed Feb 14–May 1, 2026 this year, and set to close again Sep 9, 2026. Always confirm current status before booking.
02Free water park day: registered resort-hotel guests get one free admission to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach on their actual check-in date (May 26–Sep 8, 2026) — not transferable to another day.
03No Early Entry at either water park — that free check-in-day admission is the resort-guest perk here, not a head start on the gate.
04Lockers: small $10/day, large $15/day, plus a refundable key deposit.
05Towels are free for WDW resort-hotel guests; off-site guests pay $2 each — pick up at Singapore Sal's near the entrance.
06Refillable mugs don't work here — the water parks' mug refill-station program has been discontinued, and resort-purchased mugs won't refill at Typhoon Lagoon.
07The park closes only for lightning (about 20–30 min after the last strike) — rain alone won't shut it down.
08Miss Adventure Falls has no posted height limit, but riders must be able to hold the raft handles — it's not built for toddlers or infants.
