03Preparing for Your Voyage: The Timeline

At Booking
Pay deposit. Download the Virgin Voyages app (the “Sailor app”). Pick your cabin — no inside cabins exist, all have at least a porthole (“Sea View”).

60 Days Before
Book restaurant reservations through the app (all free but reservations recommended for popular spots). Book Shore Things excursions.

30 Days Before
Pre-load your Bar Tab if you want (like a drink credit). Book spa treatments. Purchase any add-on experiences.

14 Days Before
Complete online check-in on the Sailor app. Upload docs. Select arrival time. Band (wearable key) ships to your address pre-cruise.

Embarkation Day
Arrive at terminal. Boarding is fast and tech-forward (facial recognition). Cabins ready earlier than most lines. Head to The Galley food hall for lunch.

05Insider Tips
1 ALL dining is included — this is Virgin’s biggest differentiator. No specialty surcharges. Book reservations early for the popular spots.
2 Adults only (18+) — no kids allowed, period. The line for couples, friend groups, and anyone who wants a kid-free vacation.
3 No buffet — Virgin replaced it with The Galley food hall. Way better food, no buffet line chaos.
4 Gratuities are included in the fare — you will NOT see daily auto-charges. The price you see is closer to what you pay.
5 No inside cabins — every stateroom has at least a sea view. Hammocks on balcony cabins are iconic.
6 The vibe is boutique hotel meets music festival — dress code is “no dress code.” Very casual, very cool.
7 Scarlet Night is a must — the whole ship becomes a party. Wear red.
8 Beach Club at Bimini is Virgin’s private beach experience — included but loungers/cabanas cost extra.
